A Berlin police officer (himself with a migration background) tells his lawyer Christiane Meusel what’s going on during service with the Berlin police. Colleagues with Turkish and Arab backgrounds insult him and other Germans. Phrases like “Lucky we’re going without Germans to shoot today” or “Lucky, that bastard German isn’t here today” are regularly dropped. During training for the riot police, one participant openly said: “I’ll take revenge on the Germans.” The German colleagues stay silent. They let themselves be intimidated and don’t contradict.
State security is now investigating, with more officers reporting similar things. One refused to patrol with a female colleague. In a case of domestic violence, he showed leniency toward the abusive husband with the attitude “She brought it on herself, the woman.” At the academy, trainees showed up wearing keffiyehs, others refused to participate in swimming lessons because a female classmate was presumably on her period. One trainee asked his instructor if he could use his service weapon to defend his family’s honor.
All of this might also be connected to the fact that the Berlin police are finding it increasingly difficult to recruit enough suitable applicants. Around 40 percent of applicants fail the German language test, training spots go unfilled, and the proportion with migration backgrounds has been rising for years. In some departments, 70 out of 170 officers already have Turkish or Arab backgrounds.
Armed officers, paid by the German taxpayer, who talk about their own population like that. Wow! Quota and diversity policies make it possi Seble!
