Portuguese authorities are easing domestic COVID-19 restrictions from Oct. 1 as the percentage of the population vaccinated against the disease is likely to exceed 85 percent. From this date, there will be no limit on the size of a party at restaurants and COVID-19 certificates confirming vaccination, recovery, or negative test for COVID-19 will no longer be required for many establishments; they will remain necessary for bars, clubs, major events, and health facilities. Also from this date, facemasks will be mandatory on public transport, for large events, and in supermarkets only.
